Potentials of gender-specific digitalisation

Information and communication technologies (ICT) offer opportunities to promote participation for every group in society in inclusive and democratic decision-making processes in all political and economic organisational structures.

For this reason, ICT have huge potential to contribute to good governance. ICT enable more effective and efficient public services. Consequently, ICT can also be used to successfully combat corruption, for example through finance tracking.

Gender-specific barriers to accessing ICT must therefore be addressed at an early stage and structurally dismantled. Digital transformation in public structure operations can then contribute to a sustainable and more gender-equitable development of political and social opportunities.
