A high-level conference on feminist foreign policy will take place on 27 September with Federal Minister Svenja Schulze and international guests.
In February 2022, Federal Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development, Svenja Schulze, announced that Germany will be pursuing a feminist development policy.
What will Germany’s new feminist approach to development cooperation look like? And what are best practices, approaches and core elements of a feminist development policy?
The conference will address these and other questions with high-ranking participants as well as practitioners from civil society and international organizations. Moreover, peacebuilders and activists from the Middle East / North Africa region will illustrate the crucial role women play in peace and dialogue processes and share their expectations of a feminist development policy.
The conference is the final element of an intensive consultation process with actors from civil society, academia and multilateral organisations, among others, on the strategy of German feminist development policy.
The conference will take place on Tuesday, 27 September, from 09:00am-12:30pm CEST. The conference language will be German/English with simultaneous French and Arabic translation and international sign language interpretation as well as live subtitling in English.
